Marcel Hiller collected over a long period of time helmets from the former GDR. Wether chosen from police or military context, motorsports or less specific use; the sculptural objects radiate protection as an alibi and more than that the beauty of abstraction and brace themselves as a spatial structure that points beyond their pure materiality. The narrative remains indistinct and yet legible and open enough to enter into an exchange and develop an interpretative interest or urge. The environmental work is called „Bullets“, it turns inside out, a latent misfortune or the fright to cause an accident. Fear sits like a small bullet in our head, forms a hard shell and – as doubled protection – makes us unconscious for a situational existence.
